About me.
My name is Ranoo Sabnis. I’m a full-time OB/GYN in Southern California, a mom of three, and now—an artist, too. Mandala painting has become a grounding part of my daily life outside of work, and I’m beyond excited to be hosting my very first in-person brushstroke workshop in beautiful Paso Robles, California!
I started painting mandalas in 2021 and quickly fell in love with the bold, expressive nature of brushstrokes. Over time, I’ve refined my technique into big, vibrant strokes that have become a signature part of my style—and now I’d love to help you build confidence and find your flow, too.
Join me and a wonderful group of fellow mandala artists for a day and a half of color, creativity, and connection as we explore brushstrokes, color mixing, and everything in between.
Tentative Itinerary!

Saturday Painting Session 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Studios on the Park

We'll kick things off with a full afternoon of painting!

Start your workshop experience with color mixing a custom gradient - I'll let you choose from a few color palettes so you can make your own unique piece

We'll paint a 14 inch square mandala with patterns inspired by my piece shown here

Bring your favorite mandala painting tools, but I'll provide you with fresh brushes from Thoughtful Dots

It's a long day, but the studio is right on the Central Park, so feel free to take a walk and stretch

Saturday Night Dinner

We'll take a mid-session break for a quick dinner so we can get back to painting. If the weather is nice, we can sit outside with picnic blankets

Sunday morning - Optional: Join Bryanna and me for brunch at a local spot - but feel free to do your own thing!

Sunday Painting and Wrap Up 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

We'll finish up any works in progress, take photos, and enjoy our time before our final goodbyes.

I will be around the whole long weekend - if anyone wants to meet up before or after for meals or strolls around town.

📝 Pre-Workshop “Homework”
You’ll receive a short, reflective assignment from Ranoo to help identify your personal painting goals. I'll plan to meet virtually with each participant before to discuss goals and strengths & weaknesses. This will guide us in tailoring the workshop to your specific needs and focus areas.
🎨 Custom 14" Mandala Painting Tools
Each attendee will receive a 14-inch square wooden board, prepped and ready to paint. You’ll choose your own background color (which I'll prepare) and custom palette to make it uniquely yours.
🌈 Paint Mixing Session
Before the workshop, you’ll work with Ranoo to choose a color gradient to mix in person. All paints will be provided—just bring your creative spirit!
📐 Mandala Pattern + Brushstroke Techniques
You’ll get to practice brushstrokes on a beautiful new mandala pattern designed to fit your 14" board, plus the techniques and skills to confidently complete it—whether during the workshop or at home afterward.
Bring your own basic mandala dotting rods and tools and brushes. I'll have extra brushes available to try out in class.
